My boyfriend and I took his two young children (5 and 3) here a few weeks ago on a very chilly Tuesday morning. We had the entire place to ourselves and other than the weather, it was perfect.
We started with the animals. The gave us a bag of feed and the sheep came running down the hill to see us. All of the animals were very eager for us to feed them. Most of them were gentle, but the larger goats were very aggressive. It's not like we thought that they would hurt us, they were just pushy and scary to the kids.
The staff at the farm were excellent. They were great with the kids, giving them extra treats to feed the animals and telling us about everything. It is a beautiful, well kept farm and all of the animals look happy and healthy.
We spent the second half of our visit in the playground area. The giant trampoline was a huge hit. We jumped until we had to stop from too much giggling. It's a workout. The playground is so extensive, that if the weather had not been so cold, we could have spent several more hours here. The kids didn't want to leave,
There is a nice cafe with nearby indoor slides to keep kids and adults happy!
A very nice place to visit and something that I would recommend to everyone, even if you don't have little kids with you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (magdal…)Newbury, Grossbritannien51813. Okt. 2008
This was a lovely family day out. The premises are well maintained, the staff are helpful and enthusiastic and the animals all seem happy and well kept.
We didn't visit all the attractions, but had a great fun morning.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (imawhi…)Basingstoke, Grossbritannien67619. Nov. 2008
Our local Preschool made a visit to Bucklebury Farm in the summer and we had a lovely day out. There is an outdoor and indoor adventure playground and a cafe which sells food, drinks, snacks and small gifts.
The outdoor playground also has a wooden fort which the children enjoyed running up and down in and a Tree House with slide. They also have little toy tractors dotted round which the children enjoyed playing on.
The indoor play area has huge slides which are great fun for the children and an indoor play area with tunnels etc.
Tractor rides are also available pulled by a lovely shire horse and we were taken to meet the Reindeer whilst our Tractor Driver told the children all about them and helped them to feed the Reindeer.
We then went to meet the farm animals and all the children loved the donkeys who were very friendly. They had typical farm yard animals but it was very nicely laid out and easy to see and stroke the animals.
It may be a good idea to take with you some waterproofs and wellington boots as it can get quite muddy in bad weather especially.
The staff were informative, friendly and approachable and we thoroughly enjoyed our day out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
