A nice hotel by the Rhine in the centre of Bonn. The rooms are nice the staff friendly and all in all a good hotel to stay at. I am hhonors diamond member, which says a lot. Wanted to love it. Was good, not good enough to be my prime choice when being in the area. A shame really.

What a wonderful and unexpected find during a stopover in Bonn, Germany. The Hilton Bonn was the perfect place for our one-night stay in the town.
The four story building features an indoor pool, gym, saunas, a restaurant, many conference rooms, and a bar. While there is no executive suite for us Hilton Diamond members, the associate at the desk did give me two coupons for the bar.
The rooms are nice. We had the two twin bed room which had a view of the town. The beds were soft and the pillows were cotton. The shower pressure was amazing and the bathroom itself was clean.
Overall the staff was really friendly as well as helpful. They answered our questions about the town and made our stay really enjoyable.
The hotel breakfast is definitely one to stop at, especially being a Diamond member where the breakfast is comped for you and a guest.
Parking is in the garage that's connected to the building. It's 29 euros a night and can be charged to your room.
I'm so happy we found this place. An amazing deal, a wonderful hotel located right in the central part of the town.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 20. Juni 2018
A nice hotel by the Rhine in the centre of Bonn. The rooms are nice the staff friendly and all in all a good hotel to stay at.
The room was comfortable and well appointed. The hotel is conveniently located very close to the Rhine and there are many cafes and things close by.
I will probably stay here again. It's reasonably priced for Bonn.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michael M.San Francisco, Vereinigte Staaten04223. Mai 2022
The positives are that the Hotel is centrally located and there is some air conditioning. However, the house keeping is hit and miss. Food and Beverages offers poor value for money when quality is considered and the service is mostly mediocre at best. For example, I ordered some food and drinks from the Bar Menu and the server advised me that I need to go to the restaurant downstairs to get my food. My question as to why items ordered from the bar menu could not be served in the bar, was left unanswered.
Still, there are many conventions in Bonn this month and all Hotels fill up nicely and the rates go up accordingly. If you choose to book this Hotel, i suggest you bring your wallet and manage your expectations.
Bon Voyage!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matt R.Minneapolis, Vereinigte Staaten3112551120. Mai 2011
Get room 269 (which is really on the 4th floor, 5 total). King suite (and not a 'European king' either where it's really just 2 beds pushed together). It's a corner room that faces the inner courtyard of the hotel, and the other side of the suite faces the Rhine river. Gorgeous. There's a small stoop/balcony where you can fit a chair on an have a cup of tea, watching it all go by.
Great location right on the river, nice walk into the older part of the city, and the hbf station.
Thank you Jeff for posting about the security of the hotel; I made use of the safe while I was there and didn't encounter any problems. I'm sorry you had to blaze the trail for us all here.
The room has a top-of-the-line Nescafe espresso machine. Take advantage of this!! Deliciously strong coffee and right in your room.
Check in the lobby to see if they have any free in-room wi-fi passes. We snagged a few of them, and saved some money that way.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris F.London, Grossbritannien762531149427. Juni 2012
Not a steep price for a Hilton. I got a lovely room here and made use of their impressive fitness centre. The reception staff were very friendly, you can tell that this is something that is held up as important here. Treated myself to some room service too, which included a very tasty cheese plate!
Did have to chase round a bit to get a 'guest folder' (the book with hotel and local information in it) in my room, as I had to look around the room for it twice as they were so sure that I must already have it. This was a bit annoying as I wanted to get out to see the city!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa B.Greenwich, Vereinigte Staaten63547625012. Nov. 2014
From the outside, the Hilton Bonn gives you the impression that it's an older property and I was a little concerned as we drove up to it. When you walk inside, you find that it's incredibly contemporary.
The front desk staff were overwhelmingly welcoming and professional. The room was generously sized, but the shower like many European showers is almost completely open with no door and the shower head kept falling off of its hanger whenever the water was turned off. I was also relatively unhappy that while you could get free wifi in the lobby, you had to pay 20 Euro for it in the room.
They have a gym which includes three treadmills, a spinning bike, a rowing machine and another exercise bike in addition to weight machines and free weights. I used it almost every day that I was there. This I always find very useful. Not many hotel gyms actually have spinning bikes. This made me very happy! They also have a pool and spa.
The prepaid European breakfast buffet is quite large and includes champagne. You definitely get your money's worth in terms of volume. The food itself is average, but I didn't sample everything they offered. The service in the restaurant was friendly and professional.
I will say overall considering the accommodations, location, amenities and service, value for money is better than you would expect. I would recommend The Hilton Bonn as a great options for business travelers on a budget. Not sure I'd stay there on a personal vacation visit, but if I had limited choices, I would't be too disappointed.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Sarah F.Manchester, Grossbritannien20164824. I had a lovely recent stay at Hilton Bonn. They impressed me time and again with excellent quality accommodation and service. My room was very pleasant, with a large balcony overlooking the Rhine over on one side. I sat outside every evening and enjoyed the experience. Plus free Evian water in the room!
The hotel restaurant was so good that I went numerous times instead of going out and exploring Bonn. I (unexpectedly) was visiting during Beethovenfest and the restaurant advised me whilst passing that they had a special Austrian menu that week. I had Pumpkin soup for lunch which was the best I have ever had. The breakfast buffet was to die for, especially the three different types of homemade American muffins! My favourite thing again, was the excellent treatment and service that I experienced: it was always top-notch and first class.
The only drawback is the cost. Some things in the hotel were prohibitively expensive, such as the drinks in the bar - even with 'happy hour' the drinks were much more expensive than others close-by - and the parking was absurd at 25 Euro per 24 hours. I parked over the street in the Opera parking, and over the bridge at the Forum parking for half the price. Oh and the internet is not included - another 20 Euro a day(!)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nikbin R.München, Deutschland65116. Sept. 2010Erster Beitrag
The Hitlon Bonn is pretty nice although they are renovating the pool area right now and for the next month. The rooms are clean and quite modern.
The employees are always polite and obliging.
Have fun guys...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael H.Kentish Town, London, Grossbritannien24181019. Okt. 2013
This Hilton is among Germany's best hotels, hands down. Yes, in-room wi-fi and parking each cost about 20 Euros...but these are about the only complaints I imagine most travelers will have.
The building itself is relatively subtle in its appearance, but its U-shape means it has a courtyard with Rhine river views. Inside, excellence is at work on all levels: friendly and helpful staff, a sumptuous breakfast buffet with attentive waiters, spacious, tastefully decorated rooms. Very comfortable beds. The 24h gym in the basement has about 10 different pieces of equipment, including three treadmills. Small details like a plethora of international TV channels, free copies of The Wall Street Journal and ice machines on each floor round out the picture of a well-run hotel. Rates can be around 170 Euros, which is good value for money.
The location of the Hilton right on the Rhine is picturesque and quiet. From a traffic perspective, the hotel is also well connected to several major city streets that take you to different Autobahns in a few minutes. Cologne, for example, is a 20-30 minute drive away.
Tip: use nearby Beethoven parking garage (5 minute walk) as a less expensive parking option.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
